My mouth look different after braces ( looks swollen )

Hi there !! So I loooveeee my braces and I'm looking forward to see my final results even tho I have to wait two years ... But lately all my friends even my family ask me if I'm in pain because of my " swollen lips " 0_o LOL !! I'm starting to get self conscious about it !! LOL I have metal on the bottom and clear on top but the brackets are huge ! Lol and making my lips bigger ! No the sexy Angelina Jolie type lol the duck face type even my date ask me if I was taking medicine for the swollen lips lmao ... Here is a picture and I can't close my mouth

I just got braces Thursday and only need them on the top. I have clear and they are so bulky! My lips dont stick out but my husband said it looks like Im pouting all the time now. It may be because I was all weekend though.

Hello Maria, I've had my braces just over a week now and my lips have calmed down. Obviously I've not seen you before, so cannot really comment on whether you look different, but from my experience swelling around the mouth is totally normal. All those foreign objects in your mouth, it's gonna complain a little bit!

It should calm down within a week or so. My lips poke out a little bit more than before, as the brackets do touch the inside of my lips. But they've calmed down from the first 4/5 days.

Hmmm, my mouth looks different since getting wired, and I rather like the fuller look! Because of my backwards bite, I had a flat mouth. Now almost six months into my treatment my upper teeth are moving forward and my upper lip finally has some shape!

You'll also bond with the Chapstick, since your lips may end up drier than unsual. Enjoy the changing shape of your mouth and smile!

hahaha thank you !! but i already have big lips my friends dont even care about my braces they just go WOW your top lip is swollen ? LOL hopefully they go back to normal soon

Oh god, that's me too. I can close my lips (with difficulty), but moving my lips to speak has been greatly encumbered.

I've got that puffiness around the mouth area. Please tell me this goes away.

Well I asked my Orthodontics today and he say is because of the braces and my profile so he tod me that I have to wait until we get to that stage of the treatment he i distillovimg teeth around and pushing them that ect .. He say that after my extractions it will get better and my profile will change but it all take time
