Introduction

#1 Post by cherise25 »

I just wanted to say hello to everyone who has posted things about their experience with braces. I am 25 and got braces on top about 6 months ago to fix an impacted canine. I have really appreciated reading people's stories here and it's helped me to know kind of what to expect next. I recently had exposure and bonding surgery about 4 weeks ago, and was surprised and excited yesterday to see a tiny bit of the adult tooth just starting to peek through. Since that is pretty much the only reason I got braces at all, I was sort of worried it would not move at all and I would have wasted a lot of money and time. I was not expecting anything to happen that fast! I suppose the next thing is I'll be getting my bottom braces. Not looking forward to having them top and bottom because I have found out that I can cheat a little on eating harder things since I didn't have them on the bottom. I'm kind of glad I got them but wish they weren't so time-consuming to care for properly. But I have loved this website since I found it, and I decided to join because I have found it so helpful.

Sounds like it's going well for you so far! Having a community like this helps, I think. It's making the process seem a little less daunting to me, anyhow.
