UPDATE!

I went for my first adjustment today. Right now I only have tops, have to wait until it does its job before they can put the bottoms on. Anyways, the wire came off and then they decided that they would put the same one back on. I was a little discouraged because I thought the first wire had stopped working, I had not felt tight or any soreness in a week or two. Wow! Was I wrong. I am feeling it now. The tech told me that she was going to 'engage' something this time. Don't know what she was talking about it, but I feel like I'm hooked up to a crane now.

I know this will vary for each person but how long did it take to see results? I can see that my back teeth are pulling out and there is this really weird shape going on back there. No longer a horseshoe shape more like a polygram of some sort. The front teeth on the other had appear to me to all be going in the wrong direction. I now have a gap up front like I never had before and then some teeth are turning sideways. I trust they know what they are doing but I thought it would be more simple than this.

Got my braces put on Monday, and had tooth #4 pulled yesterday. Needless to say I'm not a happy camper right now. I got the clear on top, but they had to put metal on the bottom, wasn't happy about that. Boy is it strange. I'm 32, and feel like a teenager. Got a few funny looks when I went to the gym yesterday. Guess I'll get used to that. Good luck to you.

Hey There,

same here I feel like a teenager. They put my braces on yesterday and tehn removed some of my bonding that was concealing some gaps and a crooked tooth. Boy I feel weird..expecially after 5 years of having the bonding. My teeth look smaller. When they come together, they'll look normal. I hope.

Hope things are well with you !

The anticipation is worse than the braces. Good luck.

At this month's appointment, my wire was changed to NiTi (nickel and titanium) and it is heat activated. Sure is funny to take a drink of cold soda and feel it loosen up then retighten as soon as I swallow. Still no word on when my bottoms go on, but they say everything is going just fine???
