New Member Intro

Hi!!
I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Shauna, I have three kids-two teenagers and an 8 year old. One of of my teenagers has already been through braces, and now it's my turn. I've always wanted to fix my smile, but never took the time for myself. At 36, I figured I'm not getting any younger!
Tomorrow, I go in to have the top braces put-on (Damon clear), and will go back later for the bottoms.
I'm not at all nervous about the pain or discomfort, but I do feel a bit ridiculous and self-conscience having braces at my age.
Hopefully, this passes quickly. My orthodontist says my treatment time will be about 24 months. This seems like a really long time to me-I didn't think my teeth were that messed up. I have an 8mm deep bite a couple of gaps near my bi-cuspids.
So anyways, I'm glad I found this board, it's already been so helpful to me in preparing for my appointment tomorrow.
