Damon v 3m clarity

I'm getting 3m clarity ceramic brackets in a couple of weeks, as this is what my ortho specialises in. I am happy to have whatever he recommends but just out of interest, I wondered whether ceramic damon were slightly bigger than regular ceramic braces because of the self-ligating "door". I think I've read that ceramic are generally bigger than their metal equivalent but I wondered about the comparison between different types of ceramic. Has anyone had the opportunity to compare them?

I can't compare to the 3M, but the damon ceramic seemed really bulky to me, they are definitely much bulkier than the metal, and my ortho said they would need to be place a bit closer to the gum line also. I went with the Damon metal and they aren't bothersome at all as far as sores and poking brackets go! I am still new to treatment though, so let's see how I will feel in a few weeks. I feel like they are very noticeable the more crooked your teeth are too.
