So I got my braces on Tuesday and I feel like I am dying!!! I work in customer service and I talk all day, the bracket thingy that will hold my TPA is MURDERING my tongue!!!!
I have been using wax everyday, day and night and still hurts. My question is: Do you recommend I stop using wax and let my mouth rough-up or should I keep using it this much??

I've had my TPA in for 3 days and my mouth is killing me too. The bar across the palate wedges into my tongue making eating anything bigger than soup or yoghurt very difficult and painful. No one at my OD said anything about eating problems. Am trying to tough it out in the hope it will get better with time but it is definitely hard when you work with people and the public. People must think I'm a grump as I'm certainly not smiling
I wondered about the wax too but the stuff i was given is quite hard, I thought Paw Paw ointment might be better...

My Ortho gave me several different wax samples and by far my favorite is Orthosil. It's more of a silicone putty than stiff wax. Much easier to mold around the hardware and comes off easily instead of crumbling.
