1 week before becoming a metal mouth...

Most videos I've watched explaining the process of placing brackets have averaged the time as being about an hour. I was told I would be at the orthodontist for about two. I'm asking myself what in the world are they going to be doing to me for two whole hours!! Anyone else experience a long bracket placement visit?

I think mine was an hour and a halfish, and included putting on the brackets, wires, molar buildups, and paperwork. I had to sign several forms and fill out stuff for monthly payments.

Best of luck to you! Hope it goes well! It was pretty painless and only slightly uncomfortable.

I think I was in an out in about a hour, and they did top and bottom at the same time on me. 2 hours seems long, but maybe they are doing pre-molds, x rays, and a bunch of paperwork as well? Maybe they'd rather you think you'll be there longer and be happy when it ends up shorter than the other way around. Or they routinely book 2 hours for bonding appointments just in case something surprising happens.

I just had the top ones done at the first appointment, but I had impressions and brackets/wires on in 45 minutes or so. Maybe they are giving themselves some buffer space in case the person in front of you in line is taking too long. :D I've also been to one adjustment so far, and that took about 10 minutes. Getting them put on isn't bad at all.
