Braces at 28

Hello everybody I'm new here. You can call me Ellen and I'm 28 years old
I had my braces at the 10th of December and it's almost one month now. I've always wanted to fix my teeth with braces ever since I was a child, but my family couldn't afford it and finally after over 20 years I finally managed to afford it myself after I got a job
I have a rather big gap in my front teeth (upper jaw) with a bit of spaces between the teeth up to the canines, and i have a bit of crooked teeth in the lower jaw with a very twisted canine. I decided to get the metal brackets because it's the cheapest and fastest based on my research, and of course I could be wrong but at least it's the cheapest where I live
My orthodontist said it would take about a year, so fingers crossed
