Newbie here

#1 Post by Rhea2017 »

Hello everyone :-)

I just signed up and wouldn't like to be kicked out (lol) . I am 31 and had just my braces last week and it was the suffering days of my life :-( . I didn't imagine how painful it was and how difficult it is. So I was actually just browsing the site on the quarterly tooth cleaning with the dentist (that kind of stuff) and bump on this site. So yeah, I am happy to be a part of community who share the same (pain?) of sort. Anyway, I do hope you can advise/suggest some helful tips too.

Thank you,
:D :D :D

Hi Rhea, which bits are you finding the most difficult? When I had my first set I remember eating was difficult (impossible after an adjustment) and the self consciousness was pretty awful. All worth it in the end though!

Hi there. I'm a female age 50 with full metal braces - 9 weeks in. To be honest the first month was quite sore. Mainly inside the cheeks and lips. I advise wax. On the wires, any parts of the brace that rub. Keep replacing it. The skin in the mouth will adjust and it does get easier. . Just hang in there. I also gargle with warm water and salt. It is all worth it
