soon to be braced
Hi My name is Carol and I am 31 from the Uk, had my 2nd consoltation today , I have quite a bad over bite and we talked over my treatment plan. I wanted lingual braces but the ortho has said that I am not suitable which I very relunctly acept. She has said I will be in braces around 18-24 months depending on how my teeth move, I hads 3 extractions last week and today she fitted the exspanders ready for braces next week , realy scared as you do not see many 31 year olds in braces in the UK

Had my braced fitted today, I arrived at the ortho office 1/2 hr before my appointment feeling very nervouse but curiouse what I would look like in 2hrs time . I sat and drank a cup of coffee and chated with a mother whos daughter was in having braces fitted, she came out of the surgery and I was very curiose at her new look, she smiled and all that went through my mind was oh dear me next.
The nurse came over to me and took me into the surgery, the ortho was looking at my xrays, I was now very nervouse, she smiled at me and fitted the lip spreaders, i hated them at first but soon got used to it.
The whole fitting was not bad except the bitter taste of the fluid they cleaned my teeth with and tension when she fitted the arch wires at 1st.
My first look at my new look in the mirror was mixed with shock but excitement
