I've tried posting on the "parents of kids in braces" forum to no avail. Is there no one out there with kids going through orthodontics at present? It's kinda lonely here on my own!
I can't help with personal experience I'm afraid (not having any children), but there must be at least a few of us with kids going through orthodontic treatment - I know there is a father and child (daughter?) that posts here sometimes.
Best of luck for you and your son/daughter - there's so much good advice here, I'm glad you found this site!

Hey,Their have to be atleast a few parents on here with kids in braces, because I am a kid and I see so many other kids with them. No I'm not 12. I just thought I would use that number.( yah I know I shouldn't be on here, but there are no sites for kids with braces) If you have any questions that you think a kid could answer I will try to help. I've had braces for 17 months now and I had my 4 wisdom teeth cut out and an impacted canine pulled down on a chain this past summer. Oh yah and I have one of those things across the top of my mouth. I think its called a TPA. Well hope I can help.

Thanks! I appreciate your reply. I did get a reply on my post in the "parents of kids in braces" forum. I don't really have any questions at this point; just kind of wanted someone to "journey" with. Good luck!
