Favorite foods ?

#1 Post by hollypop »

It's been two days with my braces on and already I'm starving for some
really tasty chow. Mashed potatoes, oatmeal, yougart, applesauce and that stuff is getting old really fast, and isn't filling me up that much.

I searched around and didn't see a post dedicated to favorite foods that were easy to eat.. I saw a few posts here and there where somebody mentioned favorite foods... so I thought why not make a dedicated post about edible foods.

So everyone please feel free to post something that has some substance to it, that's not bland and too mushy. (Sorry if this is already posted elsewhere, or needs to be moved.)

My favorite that I had today was a turkey burger (or hamburger patti) plain, with basil and seasoning on it... with salsa poured over the top.
I also had some Shrimp Lomein from the chinese place the first night, the noodles were soft enough to mush down and swallow.
YUMMY

My fave has become chili and cornbread -- spicy veggie chili and cornbread smothered in honey, of course. (We have to make eating worthwhile these days, since there's so much cleanup involved afterward!!!)

Pastas did fine with me. As long as there is just sause and noodle, I found it easy to eat and filling.

First 4 days food:
-Smoothies [bananas, strawberry [without seeds!] and mangoes]
-Campbell's Soups on the Go: microwavable cups that are sipping soups, like tomato, chicken and stars, creamy chicken etc- great for work/school!
-Mashed potatoes
-egg noodles [you can cut them really small, and they are thin so they can just slide down]
-ice cream!
-cupcakes [my preference: vanilla with vanilla icing- just rip off pieces and let them melt on the roof of your mouth- sooo good!]
-cream of wheat
-tilapia [very thin and flaky]

pastas, like angel hair, egg noodles/etc that can be thin and small are great too- not mushy :P I also had a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup today [day 7- OMG one whole week already!] and went down great!
I promise it gets better soon!
Braces off- 12 months 1 week in braces- estimate 18-21 months!
First time in braces- Damon 3's- 01-30-06 - 02-09-2007 hawley clear retainer on top, permenant retainer on bottom
