Bite Positioner ?

#1 Post by Attagirl2 »

Hi. I have been told by my orthodontist that I will wear a bite positioner when my braces come off. I have not been able to find anything on line as to what exactly this can do other than fine tune the teeth. Can this positioner help to level out the molars? I have crowns on all of my first molars and one is low compared to the second molar behind it. (the upper teeth are of course in just the opposite position, although the upper second molar sort of fads of at the back). I have chosen not to have my crowns replaced, so he is working with what I have.

Thank you for your time and expertise.

Thank you KK for the link. Sounds like I am in for a real fun time!
(At least he told me it would only be at night).

positioners are used to fine tune alignment ans occlusal contacts. they can help with minor rotations and levelling, however directions must be followed to the letter in order for them to work.

Thank you Dr. Jeff for the speedy reply. I have come this far, I can go the final lap - sounds like this part might be the most "fun"....
