Elastics on Canines to Molars -- Canine Wire Tie or Bracket?

#1 Post by asudevil83 »

I have elastics connected from my canine teeth to my second to back molars and I was wondering if I should use the canine tooth bracket instead of the metal wire tie that is attached to the bracket. Has anyone noticed any difference in effectiveness? My ortho didn't seem to have a particular preference but I'm curious to see if anyone has any experience connecting elastics to the bracket directly instead of a metal tie.

I should also note that I'm having the elastics on because I have need of slightly correcting my bite and that I notice more pressure when the elastics are connected to the canine brackets as opposed to the wire ties connected to the canine teeth. Thanks.

I've got a Q: are the elastics supposed to bring the canines down?

Previously in treatment they were needed to bring my #11 canine down. Now they are used to align my bite.
