Is this normal, or should I be on to 'regular' foods by now?
Thanks in advance,

I've had braces for 14 months (as of today) and tonite it hurts to eat. I had an adjustment this morning.
You'll have good days and bad days. Typically a whole lot more good than bad. Most of the really bad days are at the front end. Use sore teeth as an excuse to treat yourself to something like a milkshake, pudding, cheesecake or something else along those line. And Advil is your friend.
As the saying goes, "This too shall pass."

I've had my teeth hurt for a solid week. You should see the pain start to fade but if it continues to hurt you might want to double check with your ortho just to make sure everything is ok. I've also had my teeth start hurting quite a bit out of the blue many weeks after an adjustmentm just when you think you are in the clear.

It took my braces almost 2 weeks to totally stop hurting (from the first time I got them, in early Jan). And last night I was clenching my teeth, so one side hurts again
I just lived off of soft foods, mostly a lovely tuna casserole I've just perfected (due to making it so often), mashed potatoes, and applesauce.
I'm actually surprised the stopped hurting, since it seemed like it was NEVER going to happen!

Yep, I'm being very positive, I mean I don't have much pain except when I eat (or if I brush with Sonicare! lol) I forced myself to eat chicken strips today, my friend who ate lunch with me was like "Brave those chicken strips Jill!"...it was pretty funny. She's had braces as well so I have someone to whine to hehe
Keep on truckin everyone!
