Multiple orthodontists if you travel a lot?

#1 Post by lightfun »

Hi,

I am not sure if I will be able to live in one country for more than a year. If I am in India or SPAMVILLE, I could get the treatment there, it would be cheaper. But when I am in the US, would it still be that expensive ($5000?) to just get them tightened every month? and would an orthodontist agree to that?

Any ideas?

Hi lightfun. I can't answer your question, but I'm a guinea pig--my husband and I teach in China, but we're from the States (where we go in the summer), and we're moving to Bolivia next year. So I get to have my braces adjusted on three different continents. Yikes! The braces in China were a lot cheaper than in the U.S.--we'll see what adjustments cost though. I just wanted them so bad and don't see an end to our traveling in sight, so I figured--no time like the present. I'll try to keep you posted on what I find out.
