A little help would be nice, open bite question.

#1 Post by paul4885 »

My teeth are pretty much straight the reason for the braces is that my jaw because of a car wreck and growth moved into that wrong spot. The real problem is when I close my mouth my teeth do not meet properly and I am left with my front top teeth not touching the bottom front teeth. I have been wearing rubber bands for 3 months now and my jaw is coming together very nicely. My question is there anyway to move the jaw without the braces considering my teeth are straight. I heard something about buttons or something, is there any other alternatives?

Jaw surgery is a way that can get the desired movement without braces if teeth are straight but usually braces are used here too. Buttons? not sure what that means. Possibly you are referring to buttons that are attached to teeth to facilitate Invisalign.
