Im getting my braces soon and my orthodontist told me at my consoltation that i have xtra enamel on my second from the middle on the top tooth, which is why it sticks out,and part of the reason why i have an overbite, she said that she will gradually grind it back, and i was wondering A) does it hurt when they grind the tooth and B) how likely is it that i will end up getting a root canal because the nerve gets exposed.
Thanx very much any answers would be greatly apreciated!! :)

Couple of tips for you:

1.) Put your ticker in your signature line instead of your avatar....

2.) Search the boards for interproximal reduction and you'll find a lot of information on what it is, how it's done, and what you experience during it.

It won't hurt and unless the doc absolutely "tomahawks" your tooth you will not need a root canal.
