Heres the link to the little blog I'm trying to make, so others who are about to go through the procedure know a little more about it:

During the surgery, I was very numb, and given additional sedatives meant to keep me calm. I actually fell asleep and woke back up for the bottoms (I was irregular and had 2 seperate surgerys, one for the top, and one for the bottom.) I went home and slept for many hours afterwords, while others constantly put ice on my mouth and took it off.
The first day, I was limited to cold foods that I could drink. After about 36 hours, I was eating soft foods, and after 3 days, I began to eat fairly normally.
As for pain, it was minimal. The doctor reccomended that I take vicodin the first 3 days, but I always stopped after two, and didn't feel any discomfort because of it. I didn't brush for the first week, and after I started again, it hurt a little. Jan 6th was my 2nd surgery, and as of now, I'm completely back to normal. I was even eating pizza yesterday.
I'll also add that I was told I healed much quicker then most. I think its mostly because I'm still young at only 17, while most patients at my ortho's office are part of the older crowd.
Anyways, goodluck with the procedure, and don't sweat it at all. It's very easy and painless. If you have any more questions about it, feel free to ask.
