I JUST GOT MY CEREMIC BRACES A FEW DAYS AGO. I HAVE A PRETTY BAD OVERLAPPED CANINE TOOTH. THE ORTHO SAID THIS WILL TAKE ABOUT A YEAR. WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR EXPERIENCE? IS THIS A VERY OPTIMISTIC ESTIMATE?

There is absolutley no way to answer this question without more information or pictures. Giving the ortho the benefit of the doubt as an ethical professional, I'd say the doctor is probably not lying or being false in his treatment goals.
But without a photo there is no way to render any kind of opinion. Sorry

I can tell you my experience with a lower canine that needed rotating...its been 1 1/2 yrs now and its still not perfect, but its pretty close.

The Ortho is giving you his best "guestimate" based on his years of experience and previous cases similar to yours. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt unless there's other reasons which could cause you to question his timeline.
