Braces are off!

#1 Post by MegoLego »

I had a gap and an overbite, and my otho said I needed braces for 18 months. I got my uppers and lowers on Nov. 2, 2005. And after 20 months they are gone. I got my uppers off July 20th, I got my upper essix on July 27th,and my lowers came off and I got my bonded lower retainer on July 31st.

With upper essix in:

Mego, did you have a gap between your two front teeth?

and how long did it take to close or significantly minimize?

Bellita: I did have a gap inbetween my two front teeth, it started to look smaller once I got power chains. I had them for 16 of the 20 months I had braces.

Thanks Everyone!
I went back to the ortho on Wensday for a retainer check. I sat in the waiting room for about 10 minutes then they called me back. So I saw in the chair and told me to put in my retainer and I wated for the ortho to come see me. About 3-5 minutes later the othro came over looked at my teeth then he filed inbetween my two front bottom teeth. So he said that I need to come back in 2 months for impressions. I sure hope I dont have to get braces again. Next appointment: November 27th.
Does anyone have any idea how much bleaching trys would cost or any good teeth whiteing products or systems?

one question though: did you ask to get your top braces off before your lower?like your dentist..cause im wondering if i can do that too, but im a little scared to ask:P theyve only been fixing the lower teeth, because my problem now is the bite...ill ask next time i think, if theyre still not doing anything about my top ones..you see i have to go to an other clinic to get the braces OFF..he only adjusts them where i usually go...he has a lot of patients:P

regulering17, they are probably using your upper arch for anchoring to adjust your bite.

Do you have elastics? If so, you can't get one arch debonded before the other.

Hope this helps.

regulering17 my ortho only fixes bonded retainers for bottom teeth. And it took 2 weeks for them to make mine so they kept my braces on longer than my uppers.
