Your teeth look so good!! Can you put up a pic of the last pic you have of your teeth with braces? Do you have pics of before the ortho journey began? It would be good to see, to compare! :D

Retainer Issue:

You can't really tell from the photo, but the retainer in the back on the lower is sitting at or below the gum line... is the retainer supposed to sit like that? I'm thinking no, but to top it off I had a hell of a time keeping the retainer in my mouth today when talking like it kept coming lose and was held in by the back of the retainer just sitting below the gum lines.

What should I do?

Sorry to hear you are having retainer issues.... I don't have a hawley, so I can't say for sure how they are supposed to sit in the mouth, but if it's soming out when you talk, that doesn't sound right. I'd call and make an appointment, if nothing else it will give you piece of mind!

Tim - your teeth look fantastic! I especially love how your lateral incisors were brought down. I really hope my ortho does this to me, when I get braced on wednesday (eek!). I want my lateral incisors to be brought down to help disguise my 'vampire-esque' canines.

I definately think you should call your ortho re your retainer. retention is vital in teeth conservation, so if you feel like something is not right, then by all means call - even if something may not be wrong, you are doing the right thing by being cautious.

Hope it all works out.

Alright I called my ortho they are going to see me tomorrow at 930 am to see whats up with my lower retainer, hopefully it's something easy fix and I won't have any problems... I'll keep you all up to date when I get back!

~Tim~

----------------------------

UPDATE:

Just got my lower retainer adjusted now it's back to tight and holding the teeth... As for now I'm getting ready to list a lot of stuff on e-bay to try and make some cash and get what "A LOT" of members and friends are telling me to do and get a permenant retainer on the lower... I asked the ortho how much it will cost me since I already have hawleys and he said approximently $45 since he's against them but will put them in if need be.

wow Tim your teeth look great! I'm glad they sorted out your retainer problem - it can't have been comfortable the way it was.

(I'm not jealous either lol)

Tim,
Nice going...18 months to go here to get to where you are. Your teeth looks fantastic and I am glad you got the retainer issue straightened out. I think I would stick with the non-fixed retainer, but that is me.

It is amazing at how those spaces between your upper and lower front arches closed nicely...This whole braces thing is marvelous at best.

PS: What are you selling on eBay? :-)...
