Cleaning retainers with solder points

I have come across retainer brite and another retainer cleaning solution but neither of them are suitable for retainers with solder points which is what I have.

How do you keep these types of retainers clean and free from white build up. I know just brushing them isn't good enough in the long term, and there is nothing worse than retainer breath in the morning...blegh

Please share what you guys use...

My husband soaks his in a mixture of white vinegar and water...just about 2-3 minutes. That takes care of the white stuff. His retainers lasted over 15 years and then eventually the soldered point broke which the ortho could fix.

I use a mixture of mouthwash and water and just dip it for a few seconds and then brush as usual. The mouthwash takes away any bad smell.
