Should I call and ask my ortho's office this question...?

I am scheduled for my (hopeful!) debanding on July 10th, and am hoping that I am given a lower bonded retainer.

I just wanted to ask for a few opinions on this question/subject...

--Should I call my ortho's office and ask them over the phone whether or not I am scheduled to get one or not??

(Note: I am a bit shy and this would be a bit challenging...)
