I'm FREE!

#1 Post by Ravishing »

I got my braces off today and I'm absolutely loving it! A few hours after I got my braces off I went to the dentist for a cleaning and to have my teeth shaped. My poor gums are now really swollen and sore after taking so much abuse in one day but in the end its totally worth it!

My dentist was so impressed with the change in my teeth that he wants my ortho to share my before and after pictures with him as well as have an additional set of "after" shots taken since my teeth have been shaped. I'm so happy to finally have a smile that actually impresses my dentist. How cool is that? Also, major props to my ortho who did an amazing job - even after I decided not to go the surgical route (although I'm told that I could still decide to go that way in the future if I want).

I think the only "downside" of my day was when I was presented with upper and lower Hawleys. I'm lisping really bad and my husband keeps teasing me. Tomorrow we're leaving on a 10 hour car trip for the holidays and I told him that it will be great practice time for getting over the lisp - all at his expense 8) (2 can play that game)!!

Can anyone recommend a good over the counter whitening system? I know my ortho sells Crest White Strips Pro at a discounted price. I asked my dentist what was good and he said the only thing he could recommend was the $500.00 professional system with custom trays that he offers. He is a friend of the family and offered me a discount on that price but I still don't know if its worth that kind of money to me.

Congrats!! :-)o :-V :jump:

It must take a very caring husband to help you get over your lisp, which I'm sure isn't too bad.
Hope you don't wear your mouth out from smiling all day!
