2 year brace is off!!!

#1 Post by smiling pretty »

Hi there!

I haven't posted on here in ages but have had lots of great advice when I have, which is most appreciated!

Just wanted to share my photos with you so you can see the difference. Getting the brace off was the worst pain I have ever felt... :( but hey it had to be done!

Anyway is it NORMAL to have VERY sensitive teeth? I have my normal dentist on the 24th April for a scale and polish as the ortho left glue stuff on my teeth and its gone a brown colour! I also have a thin hairline crack on one tooth and about 3 bottom front teeth are a slightly different colour...have the ortho about June/July to check if the retainers are working (have to wear them 24/7 for 4 months apart from eating)

anyway please excuse the vampire look hehe!

Fabulous, they look perfect to me, can't see the discolouration!

I know what you mean about the sensitivity, I had it starting in the last 2 months of my sentence. Since de-bracing it's not been as bad, but being able to access all over my teeth with Sensodyne might be why. Try that toothpaste if yr not already. I also used Crest Whitestrips for a week or so, which helped improve the colour. It didn't increase sensitivity.

Keep on smiling :D !

Survived Ceramic top and bottom for 16 months.
Now bonded lower retainer and Essix retainers top and bottom.

Its really sore isn't it...breathing hurts my teeth!!lol I will try that toothpaste, can't make it worse at this point!!hehe!

With reading up on here and other websites I'm thinking the sensitive teeth might be coming from the toothpaste I used when I got my brace off...some whitening stuff..(Beverley Hills or something like that) I actually use 'normal' toothpaste right now but its like a nipping biting pain...so as you can imagine I'm too much of a wimp to try those strips you mentioned!!! :(

But yes I will keep smiling!!......I'm so chuffed with the difference!!! even if they are yellow lol xxx

I'm really surprised that being debanded was painful for you. Having really sensitive teeth isn't uncommon, but personally, I think you should get it checked out. I'm sure something can be done about it.

Anyways, your teeth look wonderful! What a difference!

hey there, thank you for the nice comment!

yeah it was really sore, it was like he snipped the wires in between the brackets then twisted the brackets off...I honestly though my back teeth were going to pop out lol...Its funny now but not at the time!!

My teeth are still really sensitive my appointment though is for the 23rd (thought it was the 24th) so not long to go now...I never in my life thought Id be willing the time to go fast just to go see a dentist! :D
