To be honest, the gap you have is very small, barely noticeable if you dont look carefully. But of course human being are always self critical and look at herself/himself in the mirror with a 10x magnifier
IPR stands for interproximal reduction (aka reproximation, slenderizing, etc.), but is simply the filing of a small amount of enamel from the side(s) of the teeth.
One of my friends has a black triangle and I just assumed it was because of the shape of her teeth and thought it looked natural. I've never thought it was weird enough for her to do something about it. I'm not even sure if she notices it. But I've also heard that people get nit-picky when they get their braces off if not everything is perfect. I haven't had that problem yet as I just started out and won't get my braces off for at least 2 years. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.
I have lived 37 years with many teeth imperfections, but now that I have braces, I am obsessed and nitpicky. I'm almost done and I should be happy they are straight, but I also have a black triangle between the bottom teeth. I can't wait to go to the ortho on Thursday and have him do IPR and plan to close the gap! It's driving me bananas!
