Is there space between your retainers and teeth?

If you have finished with your orthodontic treatment and are wearing retainers (or will be soon), this is a special place to connect with others in your (enviable) situation. Ask a question or make a comment about life post-braces.

Is there space between your retainers and teeth?

On the bottom retainer, I can see some space between the retainer surface and my teeth, ie, the retainer is not like tight fitting glove to my teeth.
The retainer still fits (Hawley); and I cannot remember what the situation was like when I got the retainers for the first time.

I had asked my ortho about it (on my own) and he had said it was fine.

Not so much on the bottom, but with my top retainer I have the same problem. It fits pretty snug and comfortably, but not all the way up to the teeth. My brother also has retainers and he has it with his bottom teeth like you do. I'm assuming this is normal since the orthodontist didn't say anything about it.
