April Debrace Club!

#1 Post by Jethro »

I was starting to think the day would never come, but I have been given a debanding date of April 20. It wil be a total of 29 months of dental incarceration, 11 months longer than the original 18 month estimate. Whooo-hooo!

Anyone else getting set free in April?

I'm supposed to be debraced on the 16th. I've been in braces for about 20 months. Buut, I've got a black triangle which I want fixing! Too long in this ceramic prison!

After checking the calendar, I had them off yesterday. The ortho sent me off with a mug full of stuff that I wasn't supposed to have while in braces. I have to wear the lower retainer 24/7 for 6 months, then when at home for 6 months, then...I have to wear the upper one night a week. It's a little annoying and my speech sounds funny but they said that I'll get used to it soon.

You're gonna love it Jethro. They were off in a flash and he gave them to me as a souvenier. It's heaven when I take the retainer out for meals. :D Good luck.

Congrats RRL, 4 years is a long time!! Sorry to hear your retainers are causing discomfort, hopefully this has subsided by now. I do recall my Hawleys causing a slight lisp during round 1 as a teenager, but they were not painful. Which retainers did you get?

Thanks Jethro! I have a Hawleys retainer . It still hurts a little but I can deal, I just dont like the remove, brush, eat, put in routine...and I thought braces were hard! lol
But it all paid off, I am glad I got braces :)

I got debraced 2 days ago. I have lower permanent retainer and also upper and lower essix retainers. I am supposed to go back in 8 weeks, until then I am supposed to wear them 24/7.
I love these retainers, I hope they will do their job.
