Just got debanded and have a few questions. TIA

Hi All,
I just got debanded two weeks ago and I’m hoping you guys can help me out.
When I was debanded I had the Essix retainer as my temporary until my permanent Hawley came in. The Essix fit great and my teeth didn’t shift at all. When my Hawleys came in, my plan was to wear the Essix during the day and wear the Hawleys at night. Well, I kind of had a feeling something might be wrong and I wanted know if this was normal.
A. The metal wire on the Hawleys that goes across the front teeth positioned too high on the top and bottom. I think it’s supposed to be in the middle. I ask the assistant and he said sometimes they’re like that.
B. Also my front teeth were really sore after wearing the Hawleys
C. My Essix retainer now didn’t fit as snug as it did before I wore the Hawleys (I had to force it in)
Is any of this normal? I don’t know what to do as my Ortho is on vacation until 12/10. Should I continue to wear the Hawley or just stick to the Essix?
