Swollen gums?

My braces were removed last week and I have been dealing with swollen gums. My gums weren't this way while I was still in braces. I have been brushing and flossing and doing some salt water rinses. I guess I assumed the swelling would be gone by now. If you had swelling, how long did it last after your braces came off??
