Retainer for only one arch?
Has anyone only been given a retainer for one arch? I was given only a Hawley for the top and he said this was standard, with nothing on the bottom. I do have another thread about my Hawley. Thanks in advance.

I have permanent retainers on my bottom front 6 teeth and upper 4 front teeth. I was given an Essix that I still wear every night, about a year and a half after being debraced, but it's for the top arch only.

I don't believe it is normal to have a one arch retainer. In order to retain all teeth in their proper place, you'll need both arches covered.
I would ask, or I would demand, that you get a full retainer.
Good luck!

My ortho only gives retainers for the upper arch. I have permanent wires on both the upper and lower front teeth as well.
