Braces being "ripped off"

If you have finished with your orthodontic treatment and are wearing retainers (or will be soon), this is a special place to connect with others in your (enviable) situation. Ask a question or make a comment about life post-braces.

Braces are not ripped off. They are clipped off with pliers.

You will feel some pressure but it doesn't hurt that much.

I'm the owner/admin of this site. Had ceramic uppers, metal lowers ~3 years in my early 40's. Now in Hawley retainers at night!

I got my braces off this past Thursday. The brackets coming off doesnt hurt AT ALL. I heard the ceramics were worse but when he took my ceramics off, I didnt feel a thing. Dont worry, it wont hurt. :)
