After a month of naked teeth on my lower arch, my retainer finally came in. Apparently, my premolers tilted inward when I was naked, so my retainer is very, very tight.
I got the retainer on Monday and I've been wearing it faithfully. The only time it's out of my mouth is to eat and brush. The Ortho said the retainer would loosen up over the course of about 2-3 days. Well, it's been all week and I still can't budge the thing with my tongue. I have to pry it out with my fingers.
I know tooth movement is highly individual, but has anyone had the problem of it taking so long for the retainer to move the teeth back into the correct position?
I go back in 3 weeks and if all's well, I'll be scheduled to have my uppers taken off.
Thanks for the advice.
