Bonded Retainers

Hello There. Im sorry if this is in the wrong forum or has already been ask but I searched for and couldnt find what i was looking for.

I was recently told that next time I go to the ortho that i am going to get a bonded upper retainer, but my braces are still going to be on. Do bonded retainers usually go on during treatment?

I just had bonded top and bottom retainers put on on 5 weeks ago. I still have my braces on. I posted the same question and never got a response. I think it is fairly common.(well we are in the same boat

)
