slippery teeth.

If you have finished with your orthodontic treatment and are wearing retainers (or will be soon), this is a special place to connect with others in your (enviable) situation. Ask a question or make a comment about life post-braces.

Thank you for all of the congratulations!!! I will get some pictures up soon. I have to show off my cool deep blue Hawley retainers!!!!! :)

THe lower one is made wrong, though.... :( It does not follow the outline of the teeth like it does on the other side and it is constantly riding down into the gumline and it hurts!!! Oh, it hurts! But I don't want to not wear it and loose my work....

The other thing that is just absolutely frustrating is that after all of the elastics I had and that annoying diagonal elastic I had to wear 24 hours a day, my midline has gone back.... WTH? Pardon me....I am REALLY frustrated with this as I am certain the only way to bring it back is with braces and....I'm sorry, but I'm done with those! Even if it does not cost me anything....I simply do not want them back.

Anyway, I left a message at the office and said I need to get in asap to have them look at this lower retainer. THere is no way to fix it, I am certain....It has the in and out pointy parts that go between the teeth on one side and it is almost flat on the other....There is no way to fix that.

Happy to be brace free, but I am really tweaked about the midline! I know that things can be fixed with retainers, but I don't think midlines can. I'm bummed. Sorry to vent......

I am fairly certain that they are made locally, so maybe we can pull it off.

I actually bent one of the rear clasps so it will not ride so low. I know, not advisable, but it does not have any more pressure than it did and I am terrified that if I don't wear it, I'll loose my progress.....And it hurt too much to keep wearing it.

No one else should try this!!! I am taking a big risk!!!! :)
