Is it ok to use an electric toothbrush on this type of retainer? forgot to ask today after it was fitted, would it strip the glue off?

I use an electric toothbrush and I have an upper 2x2 retainer. I'm doing just fine.

Sure is safe. My ortho gives his patients an electric toothbrush at the start of treatment so I'm sure he wouldn't bond a retainer in all of his patients mouths and then ask for the toothbrush to be returned.

I've been using my braun the entire time I have had my lower bonded retainer. No problems and my dentist said I"m keeping it beautifully clean.
