Alright first and foremost here is the lengthy story behind it all
Today April 2nd was the day I was waiting for the past few weeks and it’s finally here. I woke up this morning at 4:30 am in anticipation for what was going to happen and what the results were going to be. 7am I logged into the forums to post a topic about my countdown and that it was getting very close to being brace free.
I Left the house at 8:30 am heading over to the orthodontic office all excited and ready for the results to be disclosed.
9am office is open I walk in; sign in through the computer system they have, and then I get a phone call on my cell from a friend of mine… She was thrown in jail last night… no that’s just a joke she wasn’t thrown in jail. But anyways back to the story. 9am comes I get called to get seated in the back office the doctor comes in and says alright Tim today is the big day are you ready? Of course I’m ready but give me one more second I want the last feel of braces… I take my tongue crossed my teeth and felt the braces were still there… Alright I’m ready let’s get these things off.
9:15am alright were going to start by removing the brackets you will feel a snap it’s not your tooth breaking it’s just the bracket popping off… Phew thought that was my teeth breaking
top done then he says alright now it’s time to remove the bands, you will feel a bit of pressure but that’s so we can remove the bands… Finally that’s over with and I will skip some its same process for the lowers… except one bracket the doc himself wanted to remove one bracket because it was on capped tooth… that’s all completed and now I’m handed a pair of safety glasses… I would like you to wear these so that you don’t get anything in your eyes when were removing the glue and polishing your teeth… That was an awful smell of burning glue/cement I’ve smelt in a while… Then the process of polishing the teeth made my mouth so dry that I could hardly swallow… Well that’s done now you can go brush your teeth and rinse then back to the chair for your retainers…
I Go brush and rinse… I was so tempted to look in the mirror to see the results but I decided I will hold off so back to the chair I went… Alright here are your new retainers… Pops in the top with no problem… the lowers had to be adjusted a little cut off here a little grinding there… Alright it fits now let’s see if you can get them on and off without any problems. Done! Now for the fun parts the lengthy story of how people lose their retainers what I’m supposed to wear them for, and what to do if they break or I lose them. So that’s my story and pictures will come later tonight sorry to keep you waiting
RETAINER WEAR:
Full time for 1 year, remove when eating and brushing.
Nights only 2nd year, remove during day, while eating and brushing
3rd year however I feel like wearing them… Well hell I paid for them I guess I’ll wear them like there a part of my body!

lol, when I did finally peep in the mirror cause the ortho made me look in a mirror while he was showing me how to put in and take out the retainers I saw my smile for the first time without braces and thought to myself...
