Just yesterday I finally got my hawley out- and replaced with a platinum-gold bonded lingual for uppers.
So much better!
I had the Hawley in for 6 weeks and I hated every second of it.
It tasted awful and I felt polluted
I am much happier with this one

I wonder if there was something wrong with your Hawley on how it was made cause I've had mine for almost 2 weeks and I have no issues. The first 2 days were kinda hard to get used to but they don't bother me nor can I taste them.

I don't know. I know I am really sensetive to stuff, so it could just be me. But it was disgusting! I am glad other people don't mind it as much as I did
