Hi everyone
My daughter has been given a debanding date of 28th May. The ortho was very pleased with the way the elastics had worked and she no longer has to wear them. However as well as closing her bite the box arrangement had pulled teh right canine back causing a gap to develop between it and the one in front of it (not good on teeth names!). She has put on a continuous chain and says that the gap should be closed within 4 weeks. In fact she visited on Thursday and the gap is a lot smaller already!
However my one concern is that she will not get her retainers until 8th June! If you have read my previous post you will know that DD was refusing to wera the retainers 24/7 as we had previously been told it would only be at night. We seem to have got past that but surely if it is necessary to wear them 24/7 then an 11 day break with nothing seems a very long time!
Has anyone any experience of this? Is it normal and do you think it will be OK?
Many thanks for your help

I have a debanding set and it takes two weeks to make my retainers... but I'll get temporary retainers on the same day. They are quicker to make so I get them in the afternoon of the debanding day and I have to wear them until I get the final retainer.
My ortho sees to think that a 14 days wait is too long.
