Braces are off!! (Pics included)

#1 Post by jenny101101 »

THEY'RE OFF!! WOOHOO!!!

It only took about an hour for everything(braces off, cement cleaned, x-rays, molds and pics). It wasn't too bad except for getting the four lower front brackets off. That hurt quite a bit! My mouth feels so weird and a bit slimy but I'm so glad they're off and I'm estatic with the results.....

And here they are:

Showing all teeth(I'd like to have some gum contouring done just about my upper left-your right-incisor to even them out):

What do you think? :D

I pick up my retainers tomorrow at 11:20 a.m. so I'll post pics of them tomorrow.
Keep smilin'! :)

Jenny,

Your smile looks great, congratulation  As for the gum contouring, personally, I don't think that you need it I think that your smile looks great just the way it is.

Thank you B and Quirky Girl!!!

I'm slowly getting used to being brace free. My lower retainer(essix) was bothering me the first day but I went back to my ortho and he did a little shaving and it's great now. I'm so glad I only have to wear them at night. Taking them out everytime I eat or drink would be extremely annoying! It does help me with not snacking in the evening once I put them in though! :D

I still have to take pics of them and post them....I will do that soon!
Keep smilin'! :)

Hi Jenny,

Isn't that a beautiful thing that you only have to wear them at night!!! My ortho does the same thing. I have an upper hawley and lower permanent retainer. It's nice to be able to drink coffee all day long when needed...LOL!!!

Have a great day!!

Hi Peggy! Thank you!! Life's been great since being debraced! :D I'm wearing my retainers for 10 hours/night and it's great being able to eat things I couldn't while in braces...like corn on the cob! I think I've had it 4 times since getting them off a month ago  .

How much longer do you have? How are things going? I'll have to stop by your story and check things out. I must admit, I've been slack at posting since being debraced although I do visit the site everyday and read.

Chat soon!

Jenny...WOW! I have not been here in ages and the first thing I noticed is that you got your braces off! Congratulations! your teeth look amazing :)
I am still in these things forever, but at this point I dont care anymore. Stuck on the worse before it gets better stage for about a year now. Ortho says my teeth are moving very slow.
Hope everything is well! :)

Thank you Flaka!! :D

Ugh, sorry to hear things are going slowly. I remember being at that stage from about 6 months until near the end. It felt(and looked) like nothing was happening and I thought my teeth were straight by the 6 month mark. Now, when I look back at pics, I can tell things were changing, even though it was hardly noticable. Hopefully the same thing is happening to you and things are changing. Braces definitely teach us to be patient!!
