Bonding

If you have finished with your orthodontic treatment and are wearing retainers (or will be soon), this is a special place to connect with others in your (enviable) situation. Ask a question or make a comment about life post-braces.

Bonding

#1 Post by Steph in Sac »

(Can I ask this here??)

I am going to get a peg lateral tooth bonded (the other one is crowned--which I am replacing). Have you had a front tooth bonded? Does it look real? Do you have any pros or cons to share?

Thanks!

I can't speak from my own personal experience, but I just learned that a friend of mine whom I've know for about 6 years has one of her front teeth bonded. I had no idea. It looks completely natural. Apparently the only downside is that the bonding can darken over time and needs to be redone. My friend claimed hers was ready for a re-do, but honestly I couldn't see any discoloration at all.
