Getting debraced in February!!!

So after nearly 3 years in braces (due to traveling and one very bad orthodontist) I am finally getting my braces removed on Feb. 21st. I cannot wait. I went in for an adjustment today and they told me that on my next visit (Jan 17th), we will be making my retainer molds. Wow! Already! Can’t wait! They then informed me that on Feb. 21st I would be getting my braces off. I saw a girl in the ortho today who was about to get debraced and I thought about how excited she must be, though she didn’t seem particularly thrilled. However, I am sure she was! Probably just nervous.
I will be experiencing that in a few short weeks. No more cleaning my braces, I will finally be able to brush and floss normally. On top of that, I can’t wait to show off my new and very much improved smile. I feel so exhilarated! Can’t wait to upload pics of me without braces. None of my friends (or my husband for that matter) has ever seen me without braces! Wow. It will be so nice to finally be free from these metal things attached to my teeth. Though don’t get me wrong, I appreciate them very much and I am thrilled that I have them. I am just also so thrilled to have them taken off!
Any advice for me for my debrace date? What should I expect ect. Thanks in advance!

congratulations! This is truely very exciting and well done for achieving this!! I remember how excited i was when i had my braces taken off - it was a bit like being freed up, literally. I couldnt wait for all the normal things i could do again: flossing without worrying about wires, no more pain from monthly check ups and tightening, and just the simple idea of being able to run my tongue over my teeth without anything being in the way
Awesome!
Word of absolute advise: post braces, do EXACTLY what your ortho tells you to do, especially when it comes to wearing a retainer.
I speak from experience - i will be getting braces (hopefully) next month, and this will be the second time around for me, as my first stint at it, I wore it for 4 years and a retainer for 1 year.... and then my teeth moved out of place, slowly but gradually over the years they shifted - and its bizarre, but even now they are protuding so much i just hate it! So, off for another round of treatment for me. However i must also keep in mind that my wisdom teeth came out very late, way after i had my braces off and they could have also caused movement.
But all the best! Do upload a pic of the first post-braces smile!!

Thanks Kirsten2011! I am very excited to have my braces removed.. though I must admit I am also nervous that I will go to the ortho that day and they will say that I must wait a little while longer. Lol.
It will be nice to smile without feeling like everyone is just staring at my braces.
Congrats to you also! It takes a lot of courage for adults to go ahead with braces... it is so worth it though! I finally have the smile I have always dreamt of and I owe it all to the "train tracks" in my mouth!
I will definitely have to post pictures. Thanks again for your advice and good luck to you!
