Hey Everyone!
I'm getting my braces off in a few weeks and my dentist wants to put 3 crowns on my teeth right away. They will put a temporary crown on at first and then put the permanent crown on 2 weeks later...
Since crowns are larger than the normal tooth size, I'm worried the crowns will make my teeth move. Has anyone had to get a crown after braces, and if so, can you give me any advice?
I can get new retainers to fit my mouth after the permanent crowns are in, but I'm worried about not being able to wear retainer for 2 weeks while I'm waiting for the permanent crown.
Please Help! Thank You!

Re: Getting CROWNS after braces
I wonder whats the big hurry, do these teeth hurt you. Your just getting out of braces your teeth need to settle they might feel sore and maybe a little lose right after debanding. Getting three crowns at the same time is a big order and u could end up with balancing problems and bite problems and it will be hard to figure out which one is causing the problem. It probably would be better to wait and see how your new bite is doing after braces so your dentist cant say its your orthos problem and your ortho says its your dentists fault it you end up with problems. In the end I wouldnt get three done at the same time one at a time at least a couple months in between to make sure each tooth feels fine.
