Please help me with my hawley retainer?

If you have finished with your orthodontic treatment and are wearing retainers (or will be soon), this is a special place to connect with others in your (enviable) situation. Ask a question or make a comment about life post-braces.

Please help me with my hawley retainer?

#1 Post by pmjune »

I took out my retainer and my sister knocked it out of my hands when I picked it up it looked normal but it hurt when I put in back in my mouth, now when I put it in the loop is on my gum more than the tooth, the wire on the front teeth is a little high up but pretty normal. Is the loop on the gum a major problem? Thanks!

You should probable take it back into the ortho and get it fixed. If it feels different after a fall, it more than likely changed shape, and even just a minor change could move a tooth.

If it moved in one place, it moved in another and could be shifting things that you don't want shifted. Take it back to your ortho immediately.
