New retainer/question

Hi! I got the top teeth debraced several days ago and they made me a trutane retainer in the office, which I have been wearing religiously (except to eat and brush). Today I noticed that it is sticky (more tacky than sticky really). I brushed it to make sure there was nothing on it, but the tackiness didn't go away. It's Friday so I can't even call my ortho until Monday to ask about it.......... is this normal?

I wanted to reply to my own post, for others whom this may happen to. A few days later, I discovered that my CHAPSTICK is getting all over the retainer, thereby making it sticky! Who would have thought?
