My Hawley retainer is weird? Clasp near the canines?

So I just got debonded yesterday and I got Hawley retainers fro my top and bottom teeth, and I just noticed they are a little bit different than most. They have this kind of clasp or circle before the loops of the canines and am wondering if I should be using those clasps to remove the retainer instead of the canine hoops? I'm asking this because my orthodontist didn't teach me how to remove them, He just put them in and told me I was good to go. Here's a picture. Thank you!

I also have a weird hawley retainer i have springs individually behind my upper two from teeth and my lower tooth on the right side between the front tooth and the canine tooth.
