i was just wondering how long on average the orthodonist will have
a patient wear a permanent retainer...thanks for your help!

I'm still in braces, but I kno ppl who had braces wen they were in middle school or high school and now in their early 20s...some ppl say 4 yrs, some ppl say forever..I'm not entirely sure tho...

one of my ortho's assistants has had hers for ten years...they can basically stay on for pretty much forever, and the longer the better, because your teeth are always trying to move, and you're always changing somehow. You might want to ask the docs, though!
Damon 2's top and bottom, BRACED 02/22/04 and REMOVED 08/29/05. Now in bonded retainers (top and bottom) :4 wisdom teeth surgically removed on 12/22/05:
