My orthodontist gave me a prescription for PreviDent Gel. I know it helps prevent cavities, but will the fluoride help prevent stains as well?

My dentist gave me Prevident for sensitive teeth. I have been using the regular toothpaste for sensitive teeth, but it just wasn't cutting it. The only problem I have now is getting out of the routine of reaching for the tube and instead reaching for the Prevident.
