Love your electric toothbrush? Hate that yucky mouthwash? Can't live without that terrific threader floss? Got a fave canker sore remedy? Here's where you can post your opinions and reviews of specific products relating to dental hygiene and your braces. Tell others what works....and what doesn't!
You can move them under your archwire, around the bracets, and between spaces in your teeth to remove food and plaque. I suggest using the Gum brand proxibrush as you can refill the heads.
The standard issue proxibrushes seem too huge for me. I've been using Go-Betweens, which are smaller brushes on small handles, rather than being toothbrush-size handles. Then I can really get in there and brush around without feeling like I'm going to pop a bracket.
I was given some proxibrushes by my ortho from day one. I love-em. Mine are like a small tube that pulls apart to reveal a little brush. They are perfect to carry in my pocket. It works great to do a quick cleaning when i dont have time to brush, like at noon meals.
I sell a couple of different types of Proxi-brushes on DentaKit. Some are travel-sized and some are full-size with either a straight spiral brush or a tapered (Christmas-tree shaped) spiral brush. And I sell brushhead refills. The Tip-a-Dent product is neat, because it has a rubber tip on one side and a spiral proxi-brush on the other.
I'm familiar with the go-betweens. Maybe I should consider adding those to the DentaKit lineup if people find them helpful. I'm slowly and carefully expanding the products I carry. I don't want to carry everything under the sun, just stuff that people actually find useful for braces.
Personally I mostly used a rubber gum massager to dislodge food before I brushed. But everybody has their preferences. Some people don't like the spiral brushes because food particles get trapped in them and they aren't easy to clean. It all depends on what works for you.
